Welcome

The Vale and Downland Beekeepers' Association , formerly known as Wantage and District Beekeepers' Association, was founded in 1963 and since 1991 has been a registered charity (1015801).

We represent the interests of beekeepers and beekeeping in the Vale of the White Horse and surrounding areas.

Our aims are to promote beekeeping and increase public awareness of bees and their importance to the environment. We are here to serve those who are already beekeepers, beginners who want to start beekeeping and need instruction, and anyone who wishes to be associated with bees and beekeeping in our area.

We are affiliated to the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and therefore our members enjoy a range of benefits including the BBKA News, Insurance and much more. Our membership continues to grow and currently stands at 121.
